Pinehurst, NC-- Golf is the perfect game for contestants of any age. Today's Par 3 shootout is the perfect example that age does not reflect ability. 10 year old Davis Womble of High Point won the 11 and under age division with a total score of 61 on the Azalea par 3 course at Pinewild Country Club in Pinehurst, NC to advance to the 9 hole shootout. He then survived the 9 hole shootout to capture this years Tarheel Youth Golf Association's Par 3 Shootout title. Cameron Spencer of Salisbury won the boys 16-17 division with an even par round of 54. Taylor Zimmerman of State Road captured the boys 14-15 division with a closest to the pin playoff over Jeff Boyan of High Point. Ryan Nagy of Raleigh won the boys 12-13 division with a 4-over par round of 58. Lorie Beth Adams of Burlington was the winner of the girls 13 and under division with a total of 76, while Jamie Hester of Belews Creek won the girls 16-17 division with a 66. 11 players advanced to the shootout with 2 players being eliminated on the first and one player on the next 8 holes. Womble outlasted William Park of Chapel Hill with a par on the 9th hole to win the annual event.
