Final Results

Davidson, NC--Trey Kirby of Roxboro used a strong front side to propel him to a final round one under par 71 to win the 2006 Tarheel Youth Golf Association's Tour Championship at River Run Country Club in Davidson, NC. Kirby, a 17 year old rising high school senior, shot a two under par 34 on the first nine holes of the final round and won the championship by two shots. Kirby's two day total of 143 was two shots better than Joe Kastelic of Newton and Jeff Boyan of High Point. Courtney Taylor of Gastonia defended her title winning her second straight Tarheel Youth Tour Championship. Taylor, a 15 year old rising high school sophomore, distanced herself from field with a three over par 75 for a two day total of 159. Finishing in second place was Megan Ulep of Belmont. Also winning his second straight tour championship was Davis Womble of High Point. Womble's two day total of 152 secured the boy's 12-13 age division. In 2005, Womble won the 11 and under division in the tour championship. This year's 11 and under division was won by Tristan Lough of Elon. Casey Ward of Chapel Hill scored her 2 lowest rounds in winning the girl's 12-13 age division.
