Final Results

Wake Forest, NC--Ben Wright of Shelby followed a first round 70 with a solid two under par 65 to capture the Tarheel Youth Golf Association's Fall Championship trophy. Playing a par 67 17-hole stipulated round, Wright, a high school junior, had three birdies and one bogey on Sunday in route to a four shot victory. Finishing in second place was Jack Garrett of Durham after rounds of 72 and 67 for a two day total five over par 139. Warren Straub of Apex finished five shot back in third place. First round leader, Michael Gulledge of High Point struggled to a second round seven over par 74 to finish tied for fourth with Andy Know of Cary, Billy Herring of Lillington, and Ben Kohles of Cary.

In the girl's division, two rounds were not enough to determine a champion. Madison Overbey of High Point and Colleen Estes of Cary finished tied at six over par 140. Overbey, a high school junior, pared the par five first hole to win the girls title. Finishing in third place four shots back was Sarah Almond of Albemarle at ten over par 144.

JT Poston of Hickory captured the boy's 12-13 division by five shots, while Casey Ward of Chapel Hill won the girl's 12-13 title by 21 shots. Carter Jenkins of Raleigh won the 11 and under division finishing with two day total of 61 points in the modified stableford points format.
