Where to Start
If you are new to golf and golf tournaments, the tool below will quickly and easily guide you through the process of determining which events are right for your junior golfer. TYGA offers a variety of tournaments for golfers of all ages with events conveniently located across N.C.
You do not have to be a member to play in TYGA events but there are many benefits to becoming a TYGA member. If your junior is not yet ready for tournament golf check out the Youth on Course program. Below is a list of the types of tournaments that the TYGA/CGA provides.
TYGA Tots
- Girls and Boys ages 6-12
- 9 hole events
- Distances are modified
- Maximum score of 8 on each hole
- These events are a fun way for introducing players to tournament golf.
TYGA One-Days
- Girls and Boys ages 12-18 or 6-18
- 18 holes events
- Distances vary upon age divisions and courses.
- These tournaments are for new players as well as experienced tournament golfers.
- The 11 and under division plays the 9 holes from the shortest set of course tees
TYGA Multi-Day Events
- Girls and Boys ages 13-18
- 36 hole events
- Distances vary upon age divisions and course
- These tournaments are for novice to experienced golfers but welcome all abilities
- There is no maximum score
TYGA Tournament of Champions
- 36 hole event
- Players become eligible by winning an 18-hole division at a TYGA One-Day or winning their flight at a TYGA Multi-Day Event
