Final Results
Myers Park HS of Charlotte, NC battled cool temperatures and a stiff breeze and overtook Christ School of Arden, NC to win the 4th North State High School Challenge hosted by the Club at Irish Creek in Kannapolis, NC. Myers Park HS started the day four shots behind Christ School, but shot a nine over par 293 to win the annual high school tournament by six shots. Defending champions Cannon School of Concord, NC finished in third place eight shots back at 591.
First round individual leader Nicholas Lyerly of East Rowan HS in Salisbury, NC won the medalist award by finishing 36-holes with a total of four under par 138. Michael Sanders of Cannon School had the low round of the day of two under par 69 and finished one shot back at 139. Blake Taylor of Wilmington Christian finished in third place with a total of 141.
This annual high school tournament is conducted by the Tarheel Youth Golf Association and the NC Junior Golf Foundation.
