Blair Park and Oak Hollow to Host 3rd High Point Junior Open
Blair Park and Oak Hollow Are Set to Host the 3rd High Point Jr. Open
Southern Pines, NC – The Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA) is excited to announce Blair Park and Oak Hollow Golf Club will host the TYGA High Point Junior Open.
The 36-hole stroke play event is scheduled to be played on July 12-13. This event is open to the first 72 junior players ages 12-18. This event will be used for rankings for both TYGA and Junior Golf Scoreboard.
The oldest of High Point’s two municipally owned courses (Oak Hollow) Blair Park was a gift to the city from descendants of Solomon Blair. Today’s modern 18 hole facility was originally constructed as a nine hole course in 1931, with a second nine added in the mid-1940s. A favorite course with area golfers, our High Point golf course has been the host to many local and High Point Golf Championships. The course is traversed by numerous creeks that come into play on more than half the 18 holes. Bunkering is modest but strategic. The course offers numerous opportunities to go-for-broke, but will punish the errant gamble.
Registration closes for The TYGA High Point Junior Open on July 3rd at 11:59 pm.
