TYGA & VSGA Announce the Outer Banks Challenge
Duck Woods Country Club to Host the Outer Banks Challenge
Southern Pines, NC – The Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA) and Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) are excited to announce Duck Woods Country Club will host the Outer Banks Challenge.
The 36-hole stroke play event is scheduled to be played on September 10- 11. This event is open to the first 90 junior players, 45 junior players from North Carolina and 45 players from Virginia, ages 12-18.
Duck Woods Country Club is the only full service country club on the Outer Banks, providing outstanding amenities and a healthy lifestyle for all generations. The facility boasts an elegant clubhouse with spectacular panoramic views of the 18-hole championship golf course designed by world-renowned architect Ellis Maples.
Registration closes for The Outer Banks Challenge on September 1st at 11:59 pm.

FORMAT
The championship format is 36-hole individual stroke play.
YARDAGES
Yardages will range from 5,182 – 6,589 depending on age division.
AGE DIVISIONS
Boys will compete in age divisions; boys’ 12-13, boys’14-15, boys’ 16-18.
(Boys 14-18 will compete for the overall title)
Girls will compete in three age divisions; girls’ 12-13, girls’ 14-15, girls’ 16-18
(Girls 14-18 will compete for the overall title)
ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to any amateur golfer ages 12-18 as of September 11, 2016, who has not started college, is a legal resident of North Carolina or Virginia.
PRIZES
Trophies are awarded to the champion, runner-up, and third place in each age divisions.
