Snow Hill, NC (JUNE 3, 2017)-Four junior boys are tied for the lead after round one of the TYGA Bojangles Junior Open being hosted by Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C. Charlie Tate (pictured above), a high school junior from Greensboro, N.C., Jake Herring, an eight grader from Wilson, N.C., Jeffrey Parker, a high school sophomore from Oak Ridge, N.C. and Zach Roberts, a high school freshman from Holly Springs, N.C. each shot a first round of one under par 71.
Three players including Carter Cheek of Cary, N.C., Davis Gilmore of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Justin Poole of Wendell, N.C. are tied for fifth place just one shot back with rounds of 72. A total of twenty players are either tied for the lead or within three shots of lead heading into Sunday's final round.

About the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA)
The Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA), a division of the Carolinas Golf Association, a 501 (c) 3 organization, provides playing opportunities for its members, conducts educational seminars and events, acts as a junior golf informational clearinghouse, provides free USGA handicaps to junior golfers in North Carolina, recruits sponsor clubs that grant junior access to golf facilities in North Carolina, publishes monthly North Carolina junior rankings, and awards Junior Player of the Year and All-State awards to the top juniors in North Carolina. Membership is open to any boy or girl who are legal residents of N.C; are 18 years of age and under; and who have not started college.
