N.C. Middle School on Schedule
CGA/TYGA remains committed to safely conducting as many of its events as we possibly can while navigating the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The N.C. Middle School Championship on June 20th at Longleaf G&FC in Southern Pines, NC is still on schedule.
TYGA will accept the first 72 players (regardless of school affiliation) and charge the credit card used for registration on June 11th.

To conduct the tournament in a safe manner the following changes have been made to the tournament. Please read carefully.

If you are sick or at risk, please stay home!!!!

Everyone must continue proper social distancing by maintaining a minimum of six feet apart at all times.

To help with social distancing, we must use a one tee start format. All players will start off #1 at their assigned starting time.

Field will be limited to 72 players.

We ask that spectators be limited to one per competitor.

Spectators must remain in their cars until it is their player's starting time.

Spectator carts will be limited to those with a state issued handicap placard or documentation of a medical condition. Please be prepared to walk.

Spectators are asked to go directly to their cars after their player's round.

Starting times will range from 10:30 am - approx. 2:00 pm. Round one times will be posted by June 13, 2020.

There will be no on-site registration.

Practice areas will not be open after rounds.

Caddies are not allowed.

There will be no physical score board. Scores can be found on the TYGA web site and using the tournament GGID posted by the first tee.

Players are asked to check in with the starter 10 minutes before their starting time.

Rules Sheets and Hole Locations Sheets will be available online to view from your smart phone. Limited copies will be available in the starting area.

Flagstick must remain in the hole at all times. Ball is holed when any part of the ball is in the hole at rest below the level of the surface putting green.

For a ball in a bunker, the player may, without penalty, lift his ball, smooth the area and place the ball within one club length of the original spot.

Refrain from traditional hug or handshake before or after your round, we recommend a friendly nod, a tip of your cap, or a simple wave as a form of greeting or sportsmanship.

After your round, a large scoring area will be provided and a chance to verify your scores with your group members and the scorer. Your score is deemed returned once you verbally verify your scores.

Players (and spectators) are asked to leave the premises after your round. Do not gather and congregate at the clubhouse, parking lot, or any other common areas.

There will not be a traditional awards ceremony at the completion of the tournament. Trophies will be mailed to winners.

In the event play is suspended, you are directed to evacuate to your car in the parking lot. Updates will be text out about resumption of play.

All tournament meals have been eliminated. Players are responsible for their own food and beverage. Club will be open to purchase drinks and snacks.

Entry fee will be charged to the credit card used for registration on June 11th.
The Carolinas Golf Association and Tarheel Youth Golf Association will continue to act in the best interest of our members. Our top priority is the safety of our players, volunteers, spectators and host clubs personnel.
