ZEH NAMED ASSOCIATE JUNIOR GOLF DIRECTOR
The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Chris Zeh as Associate Junior Golf Director. Zeh, a 29-year-old from Cary, NC, will oversee the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA) and assist Director of Junior Golf Jason Cox in creating a series of events for boys and girls aged five to twelve. Zeh will also assist with the Association’s social media in helping to promote the junior program with a concentration on junior girls’ golf tournaments.
“Chris did a great job working with the CGA in 2009 as a P.J. Boatwright intern via a grant from the USGA. His background as a physical education teacher and tournament director with the National Golf Association (NGA) professional tour makes him the perfect fit to help improve our junior golf program” stated Cox. “Chris’s ideas and knowledge will help the CGA grow the game through junior golf. We are very lucky to have someone like Chris to join our team,” added Cox.
"I am extremely excited to join the CGA team. I look forward to helping the Carolinas Golf Association and Jason grow the game of golf through the already strong junior program,” stated Zeh.
Zeh graduated from East Carolina University in 2006 with a degree in Physical Education and began teaching high school physical education at Union Pines High School in Cameron, NC in 2007. Zeh returned to college at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY and received his Master of Sports Administration in 2010. The summer of 2009, Zeh served as a USGA Boatwright intern with the Carolinas Golf Association. Later that year, Zeh was hired for his current position as a tournament director with the NGA Professional Golf Tour.
Zeh will begin his position with the Carolinas Golf Association on January 2, 2014.
